The census is a formal count of all U.S. residents. Every resident of every state needs to be counted, citizens and non-citizens. The U.S. Constitution requires a census every 10 years and participation is required by law. The decennial census will have a profound impact on Southern Nevada and our quality of life for the next 10 years.

More than anything, the 2010 Census is about claiming JOBS, POWER, and MONEY for our community.

Every Nevadan not counted during the 2010 Census will translate to nearly $10,000 in lost federal resources for our community over the course of the next 10 years.

From May 1st thru July 10th census workers will be visiting neighborhoods to count residents who didn’t returned their census forms!

  • Individuals who did not return a census form may be contacted first in-person

  • U.S. Census workers will have a census ID badge

  • Census workers may carry a census bag with a Census Bureau logo
  • The 2010 Census only includes the 10 questions found on the 2010 Census form
  • Census workers will NEVER ask for citizenship status, social security numbers, credit card numbers or bank account information
